CONFERENCE VENUE

The conference will be held in the Railway Branch Campus at Central South University (CSU), Changsha, Hunan Province, China.

Changsha city is the capital of Hunan Province situated on the center of South China. The urban district covers a total area of 554 sq km and has a population of about 2 million. Changsha is a famous historical and cultural city and it features places of interest which has historical significance. Major scenic spots include Yuelu Academy, the Han Tombs, the Zoumalou and Wooden Slips and the Research Institute for Hunan Embroidery. Shaoshan which is about 104 km west of Changsha is the hometown of Mao Zedong, the founder of the Peoples’ Republic of China.

Changsha can be reached by land transport, train and by air from the major cities of China. Overseas participants can reach Changsha, via a stopover in Hong Kong (1 hour), Beijing (less than 2 hours), Shanghai (1 hour) and Guangzhou (less than 1 hour).

Special arrangements will be made for participants to visit Zhangjiajie, a designated world heritage site of natural beauty. Local sightseeing tours will be arranged in social program. Details and costs may be obtained from the Conference Secretariat.

About Central South University

Central South University (CSU) is a comprehensive and national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in China. It has three branch campus all located in the city of Changsha. The fields of study at CSU cover engineering, science, medicine, management, literature, law, economics, philosophy, education and history. The university now offers 75 undergraduate programs, 207 master's programs and 128 doctoral programs. It has 18 postdoctoral exchange centers, 17 national key disciplines, 4 national key laboratories, 7 national or ministry-level key training or research centers and 5 national talent training bases and research bases. Civil Engineering at CSU is one of the main schools in China. It provides PhD programs in all the areas of civil engineering. Bridge & Tunnel Engineering and Road & Railway Engineering are 2 national key disciplines.
